The Mission: A contiguous rail trail throughout the Rondout Valley from Ellenville in the south to Marbletown in the north with a connector to Rosendale.
Moving forward: The goal of the RVBA is to promote the Rondout Valley as a destination. Our rail trails are important resources that are good for both the economy and the environment. An interconnected rail trail network will link towns and villages in the heart of Ulster County and help drive clean and green tourism in the area. The four towns and village have already adopted an inter-municipal resolution supporting the trail network project. Now it's time for you to join in the discussion!
Our goal is to bring pressure, power and assets to get this job completed as quickly as possible so that our communities can begin reaping the economic benefits of the trail network. Mark your Calendar and plan to attend! This initiative is designed to benefit YOU and YOUR BUSINESS!
Time Line: June 23 -- The Rondout Valley Business Association (RVBA) Board of Directors held an organizational meeting with area municipal and trail organization representatives to discuss the process of linking all sections of the rail trail located in the Rondout Valley. Representatives from the Towns of Marbletown, Rochester, Rosendale and Warwarsing, and the Village of Ellenville, along with members of the Open Space Institute (OSI) and the D&H Heritage Corridor Alliance, joined RVBA members for the breakfast meeting on June 23 at Friends & Family II Hillside Restaurant in Accord to discuss the project's purpose, progress and next steps.
